JOB REQUIREMENTS: Scope of leadership role Position Summary: The Plant Controller is a key financial position within the manufacturing company, responsible for overseeing the financial operations and providing financial insights for the plant. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with different departments. Provides leadership, guidance and direction to the accounting team within a business unit/group. Develops and implements internal controls and monitors success to minimize risk. Partners with business leader(s) to drive business results and strategy. Provides hiring, promotion and disciplinary action recommendations, as well as performance evaluation and feedback for direct reports. Manages business unit/group accounting, budgeting, management reporting and analysis, other financial systems and methods within general corporate guidelines and regulatory requirements. Manages and develops the accounting team driving the close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Develops and implements continuous process improvements. Manages general accounting function(s) and develops team responsible for the preparation of reports and statistics reflecting earnings, profits, cash balances, and other financial results for the business unit/group. Develops processes and controls to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and Corporate accounting standards/policies. Drives consistency in processes, tools, formats, and templates to mitigate risk. Partners with strategic business unit leaders on the development of operating reviews, annual operating plans, and long range planning processes. Implements financial plans and policies for the business unit. This role supports our Black River Falls plant, qualified candidate can work remotely or out of our Milwaukee HQ and travel to Black River Falls as needed (month end, quarter close) Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements Provide meaningful financial analysis and variances to identify trends, risks and opportunities to improve plant performance. Assist in the development of financial plans, budgets, and forecasts. Month end closing and reporting Cost Control and Analysis: Monitor and analyze plant performance against budgeted/forecasted costs. Identify areas of improvement and work with operations to implement cost control measures Conduct regular cost analysis to assess the impact of material and labor costs on the overall profitability of the plant.
