ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Possess the necessary skills to apply comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents to correct deficiencies. Troubleshoot electrical equipment and controls to determine problems and perform necessary repairs. All work is to be done in a neat and workmanlike manner and according to the applicable building and /or electrical codes.
Maintain electrical equipment on an ongoing basis as part of TMS’s Preventive Maintenance program. This will require weekly and monthly inspections of equipment and good record keeping ability.
Make recommendations for the improvement of the operation of the existing electrical systems and design/layouts for future electrical systems.
Assist in the on the job training of electricians and trainees.
Install electrical outlets and additional lighting circuits as required.
Repair and maintain kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, fryers and food serving equipment, plus perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery including HVAC equipment, air compressors and dryers as required. Also light plumbing
Perform PM’s, troubleshooting, repairs, adjustments and instillations to industrial and commercial electrical systems, including electrical components of mechanical systems, for systems up to and including 600 VAC, and for control systems up to 50 VDC. Perform cutting, threading and assembly of galvanized conduit and pipe and conduit systems up to 3’ in size. Includes, but not limited to service motors, motor starters, and industrial control systems.
Perform other related duties as assigned such as shoveling snow, assisting other tradesmen and emergency repairs.
Required to be on a rotating stand by schedule with other electricians and mechanics for emergency coverage.
Troubleshoot and repair complex electronic, and DDC control issues. Design, layout and install new electrical equipment and systems with minimum supervision.
OTHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / DUTIES:
Ensures compliance with all company / customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
Utilize all safety practices appropriate to the work being done. Attend, pay attention and participate in safety meetings and training. Observe and report safety violations. Use fall protection equipment and work on elevated areas.
Submit work orders with time, comments, and signature on day work is completed. Fill out purchase requisition for all purchases.
Perform work requested in time allotted. Communicate the completion of the work to Planner / Scheduler and / or Supervisor.
Achieve performance expectations set forth as part of performance appraisals to include employee development planning.
Communications with all team members to support the development of short and long range planning in support of the company’s goals and objectives
Perform assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
Accurate and timely administrative duties to include, but not limited to, time accounting and work order completion.
Must maintain positive customer and employee relations.
REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Education and/or Experience):
EDUCATIONAL (Vocational and Technical Included)
High school plus technical/vocational school training.
EXPERIENCE (Special Skills Included)
Minimum Five (5) years experience as journeyman electrician, or equivalent, having performed work on industrial and commercial electrical equipment and systems.
Should be familiar with and know the requirements of the “arc flash” standard NFPA 70E
Familiarity with electrical power distribution systems above 600 VAC (ie 2300 VAC and / or 4160 VAC) is a plus.
Familiarity with photovoltaic generation systems and fuel cell generation systems is a plus.

Frequent mobility required for extended periods of time. Bending, stooping and working off a ladder is required.
Employee must be able to frequently lift and/or move 50 pounds and occasionally transfer and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Requires eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity and understanding sufficient to operate a keyboard, PDA (Personal Data Assistant), photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other related equipment.
Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
