Position: Nurse Practitioner for Substance Use Disorders and Alcohol Dependence
Job Description: Under the direction of the Chief of Medicine, the Nurse Practitioner for Substance Use Disorders & Alcohol Dependence (NP) will complete substance use disorder/alcohol dependence & behavioral health assessments and treatment plans/plans of care for patients in the Emergency Department as well as provide psychopharmacological evaluations. In addition, the NP will provide support to the inpatient units when directed by the Chief of Medicine. Qualifications and Experience: Education: Master’s degree in nursing required. Certification / License: A valid Massachsetts license including AANC certification and other certifications and licensing requirements, as appropriate. Must meet all clinical credentialing requirements. Experience: Candidates should have the following experience:
3-5 years' experience working in behavioral health/psychiatric or substance use disorder settings required.
1 – 3 years of family or general nurse practitioner experience preferred.
Experience developing treatment and discharge plans, substance use disorder/alcohol dependence & behavioral health assessments, and psychopharmacological evaluations.
Knowledge of psychopharmacologic management.
Knowledge of addiction treatment including MAT
Working knowledge of community mental health care and an understanding of ESPs.
Demonstrated knowledge of working with various state agencies in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year experience with Substance Use Disorder and ETOH dependence.
PHMHNP Preferred.
Spanish and/or Portuguese proficiency preferred.
