We are seeking an Advanced Systems Engineer to join our Physical Sciences and Systems group in Middletown, RI. If you are someone who is energized by new technologies, technical leadership, and customer engagement BBN is the place for you.

This is an Onsite role at our Middletown, RI location.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop models and simulations using Matlab and Simulink

  • Investigate methods to improve the performance of data handling and digital signal processing algorithms

  • Develop models and scripts to automate routine operation and test functions and troubleshoot issues

  • Produce technical reports and design documentation

  • Collaborate with BBN team members and external customers to deliver practical solutions that demonstrate innovations of the future

  • Candidates should expect that they may be required to travel to a BBN, RTX, teammate, or customer site for meetings or other business-related activities.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, or Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in related field and 3 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

  • Willingness to apply for and maintain a US Government security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Current Secret DoD security clearance

  • Working knowledge of Matlab and Simulink

  • Detail oriented, and able to understand details, interactions, and tradeoffs for complex systems

  • Understanding of the fundamentals of control theory including multi-channel feedback loops, filtering, signal processing and simulation

  • Ability to understand and report technical status

  • Experience with requirements analysis and tracking

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Experience with electronics and software development

  • Proficiency in C/C++

  • Proficiency with Product Data Management (PDM) and collaboration tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, Sharepoint, etc.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
