Leggett & Platt Aerospace Middletown Engineering Intern in Middletown, Connecticut

We, at Leggett and Platt, are searching for a Manufacturing Engineering Intern within our Pegasus Manufacturing Aerospace division in Middletown, CT.

As a Manufacturing Engineer Intern you will the opportunity to provide support and direction for the manufacturing processes. You will also make suggestions for improvement and verify the implementation of solutions.

The team you will be working with is experience, supportive and collaborative. Working with this team will be an excellent learning experience.

What will you be doing as a Manufacturing Engineer Intern?

  • Update weld schedule database to include detail part numbers
  • Model and 3D print mount for videoscope in Part Marking
  • Review/create standardized part marking settings for etch by material and depth
  • Write Keyence programs for receiving inspection of details
  • Write programs and measure fixture channel inventory
  • Update bend tool and trim die inventory lists
  • Time studies in misc departments to update some of our standards and identify OFIs
  • Rewrite generic QMS documents with useful information
  • Assist with simple modeling for fixtures and tooling
  • Help 6S various departments (Trimming?)
  • Data compilation for cost justifications of new equipment

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in: Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Operations Management
  • Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong mathematics skills
