Job Summary:

This job will part of the Cordis Leadership Development Program, the “Pulse Program” – the heartbeat of Cordis. This program is intended to be a 2-3 year program involving multiple rotations through different roles and functions within the business. This will involve leading and supporting a mix of two activities:

  1. Support critical strategic priorities for a specific region or function within the business, working closely with the executive leader of the region/function. For example working with a regional President, Business Unit GM, COO, etc.

  2. Lead and support “Vital Few” job tickets within the Cordis Business System, driving the top 3-4 Enterprise level priorities for Cordis Teammates, Customers, and Shareholders.

This leader will actively manage scope, schedule, resourcing, risk management, change management, and budget to ensure the program stays on track. This role will work on critical aspects of the global business, including regional, operational, commercial, and financial strategy in close partnership with the executive leadership team and Business Transformation team.

This role will work in close coordination with functions including Finance, Marketing, Regulatory, Manufacturing and Supply Chain, as well as across the three regions (Americas, EMEA, APAC).

The “Pulse Program” is intended to develop future executive leaders for Cordis through cross functional and cross regional experiences. These roles will be rotational in nature, with 6-18 months spent in a given area and 2-3 total rotations. At the end of the program we would expect graduates to take a functional or regional role within the business. During the duration of the program Cordis will offer mentorship with senior leaders, curated training programs, and dedicated forums and offsites for experience sharing within the program.

Responsibilities

  • Define the scope and roadmap for the specific project; partnering with all interdependent functions and regions.

  • Execute an effective governance process to track progress and report out to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

  • Implement effective change management to ensure key stakeholders are onboard with the work and brought along.

  • Work with key stakeholders to define relevant functional 3-5 year strategy plans.

  • Measure value capture of the initiative.

  • In addition to project leadership, provide a strategic viewpoint on the process, potential improvements, and areas of opportunity.

  • Predict risk factors and mitigate them for successful completion of program objectives.

  • Influence teammates and leaders who do not have direct reporting relationships.

Expected Areas of Competence (i.e., knowledge, skills and abilities)

  • Proven leadership and ability to influence a business transformation and large-scale program management.

  • Strong project / program management skillset, including scoping, execution / tracking, metrics, risk mitigation, stakeholder management, and change management.

  • Ability to create and gain buy-in for business cases and value creation and see through to realization.

  • Strong ability to communicate at the executive level.

  • Ability to work across regions, divisions and functions to influence change across the organization.

  • Is visible to Executive team in driving transformation.

  • Provide direction and scope guardrails to workstream leaders.

  • Ability to resolve cross team conflicts.

  • Exceptional teaming & collaboration both internally & externally.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Ideal background is either 5-8 years of work experience in Consulting or Banking fields OR 5-8 years of general experience plus an MBA

  • Title will be variable based on work experience and background

  • Strong technical education (i.e., operations, engineering, program management, finance, etc.)

  • BS required, MBA a plus

  • Project management experience/certification a plus

  • Medical Device experience a plus
