Work You'll Do:

As a Data Analytics Engineer supporting the Insider Risk Team, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing computer systems to analyze insider risk alerts and events. Your responsibilities will include integrating data from various internal and external sources into the Insider Threat Management workflow, cleaning data as necessary, and developing analytical models.

You will be part of a dedicated team focused on ensuring the security and integrity of critical information, enterprise systems, and environments through predictive analysis and insider risk detection. Your efforts will help counter threats before they materialize.

The Insider Risk Team collaborates with various Business Units (BUs) and stakeholders across the organization to manage insider risk detection, mitigation, investigation, and response efforts. By leveraging technical and non-technical datasets, the team aims for early detection of insider risks and works closely with affected business units to manage these activities effectively and efficiently. As an Insider Risk Data Engineer, you will contribute to developing strong rulesets, correlation with regressive statistics, and advanced analytical models for preventive threat detection.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the health of complex enterprise systems and troubleshoot high-volume data feeds.

  • Integrate data from various internal and external enterprise systems into the Insider Threat Management workflow, ensuring data cleanliness.

  • Collaborate with Insider Risk Management Intelligence Analysts to develop and tune datasets and analytical models, enhancing detection capabilities and workflows.

  • Create associated design and configuration documentation.

  • Work with the Insider Risk Management Team to identify and implement continuous program improvement opportunities.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

  • Ability to travel 0-10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

    Qualifications:

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in Information Technology supporting Data Engineering/Data Analytics or 3 years with an advanced degree.

  • 3+ years of experience creating scripts from scratch with SQL (highly preferred), Bash, Python, or Splunk.

  • 1+ years of recent experience supporting information security and incident analysis working with analytics platforms and configuring rules.

  • 1+ year of hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) for continuous integration, continuous delivery and automated deployment processes

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Applications, MIS, Business Administration, or a related field, and/or additional relevant professional experience.

  • Ability to travel 0-10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

    Preferred:

  • Familiarity with contemporary SIEM/UBA platforms and their application to cyber threat analysis.

  • Knowledge of networking protocols, encryption, firewalls, host and network intrusion detection systems, data loss prevention systems, Windows, and Linux.

  • Skilled in troubleshooting complicated IT systems.

  • Experience in a client-facing role and managing client experience.

  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience in managing and executing all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle, including planning, analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of Insider Risk programs.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80000 to $148000.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
