Job Description

TelevisaUnivision is seeking a Director of Data Science, Personalization and Product Analytics to join our Enterprise Data Science team. The Director of Data Science, Personalization and Product Analytics will be responsible for leading and developing the team driving personalization and advanced analytics efforts for ViX, the largest Spanish-language streaming platform in the world. This individual will guide development of the recommendation engine that powers many experiences on the ViX app, lifecycle propensity models that score users based on different behaviors (churn/upgrade/resubscription likelihood), and advanced analyses of ViX consumers as they traverse the ViX app, leveraging assets including the household graph and other proprietary data products to arrive at defensible, data-driven recommendations for product improvement. You are expected to be a player-coach, with an equal amount of time spent on hands-on technical work and mentoring junior colleagues. In a fast paced and collaborative environment, the ideal candidate is someone who can strive to design a strategy plan for how to improve and enhance the recommendation engine architecture within 90 days and take initiative in beginning to lead a team to bring the product to fruition

Skills and Requirements

3+ years of experience with team leadership or team management

6+ years of experience within data science and data analytics

Experience building customer-facing personalization solutions and recommendation engines for a D2C (preferably video streaming)

In depth experience with machine learning based recommendation algorithms (Matrix factorization, Sequential recommenders, transformer based recommenders, deep neural network based recommenders, etc)

Expert level experience with machine learning libraries (Tensorflow and Pytorch)

Expert level technical skills deploying Python and SQL for ETL processes

Experience with large data sets and data warehousing environments (snowflake/big query)

Expert level proficiency working in a cloud architecture service (GCP Preferred)

Ability to effectively analyze business and product metrics/KPIs for success to implement specific recommendations

Experience working within a video streaming application or experience within the entertainment/media industry Advanced degree (M.S/PhD) degree in a broadly quantitative field

Knowledge of and actively consumes TelevisaUnivision

Bilingual in Spanish null
