Correctional Sentence Technician – F/C – 70023388

This advertisement is for a Career Service position located at South Florida Reception Center in the Classification Department.

Salary: $37,117.08 annually

SALARY WILL BE APPLIED IN ACCORDANCE WITH PAY POLICY. THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE APPOINTED AT THE ABOVE LISTED APPOINTMENT RATE.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receives and audits commitment documents from the reception centers and determines legality of sentence. Communicates with

  • clerks of circuity courts, state attorneys, and other criminal justice officials as needed to clarify sentencing provisions and insure

  • accurate interpretation of judge's instructions. Checks commitment documents for applicability of new legislation on sentence

  • structure and adjusts coded data as ncessary. Notifies other offices when information pertaining to escapees, youthful offenders,

  • detainees, or countv iail sentences may have impact in those sections. Perform other related duties as needed.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three years of secretarial or clerical experience. College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours or each year of the required work experience. Vocational/technical training in the area of secretarial science or office/business studies can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours or each year of the required work experience.

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent can substitute for one year of the required work experience.

  • Must have experience working in a correctional setting.
