Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The Accounting Clerk will play an essential role in supporting the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and maintaining organized records. The ideal candidate is strong in data entry, has excellent organizational skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately process and record financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and expense reports (Source: Robert Half Finance & Accounting Materials).
Assist in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, such as matching invoices to purchase orders, preparing payments, and posting receipts (Source: Finance & Accounting - Contract Talent).
Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts to maintain accuracy and identify discrepancies.
Prepare and distribute financial reports, summaries, and documents as needed by the finance team (Source: Financial Reporting).
Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting records, including filing and data entry into accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or NetSuite).
Respond to requests and inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, such as vendors, customers, and team members.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities by assisting in the preparation and review of financial data (Source: Robert Half Finance Teams).
Monitor and track employee expense reimbursements according to company policies.
Help with other administrative accounting tasks, such as processing payroll records or assisting with audits.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field is a plus.
Experience:
1-2 years of relevant experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role preferred.
Familiarity with AP, AR, and general ledger accounting processes (Source: Finance & Accounting Best Practices).
Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (basic functions such as data entry, sorting, formulas).
Experience in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite, or similar) is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with the team.
Capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
