In the role of Principal Auditor, you will report to the regional Corporate Audit Manager and you will contribute to the Corporate Audit program within the Latam and Canada region as well as potential international assignments. You will be developing a working knowledge of Medtronic’s products & business models models, processes and operations. You will utilize your field experience, business/industry knowledge and technical knowledge to lead a variety of audit/consulting engagements and support the company’s objectives. Simultaneously, you will support the regional Corporate Audit Manager on risk assessment activities.

A Day in the Life

In your role, you will lead a variety of assignments across the region such as auditing sales office/countries, new business models, global/region led processes, post-acquisition audits as well as advisory projects to support management on transformational initiatives. You will coordinate and work with the team on all phases of the audit cycle from planning, fieldwork and reporting activities In this role, you will also have an opportunity to expand your data analytics skillsets to drive audit results.

As a Principal auditor your activities will include but are not limited to:

  • Lead audit projects in accordance with department standard operating procedures.

  • Support business in evaluating and recommending improvements to business practices, processes, and control procedures.

  • Design and prepare reports of findings and recommendations to management.

  • Conduct financial, operational, and compliance audits by examining and verifying accounting or operational records and or procedures of internal organizations to determine the reliability and effectiveness of financial and control systems.

  • Inspire, motivate, develop and actively coach team members

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study (Accounting, Business Administration, finance, or any other related field)

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in Audit i.e Big4 or internal audit.

  • Understanding of Internal control design and testing.

  • Skilled in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio).

  • Excellent interpersonal and English communication (verbal and written) skills

  • Experience with accounting and auditing theories and principles, including US GAAP and SOX

  • Able and willing to travel subject to local/international restrictions (domestic and international).

Nice to Have

  • Professional certification such as a CPA, MBA, CIA, or CMA.

  • Experience in healthcare or medical devices industry.

  • Experienced with SAP

  • Experience with Data Analytics tools (ie Power BI)
