UL, LLC Field Engineer - Tijuana in MEX, Mexico
Certification Inspections: Perform thorough safety and non-safety certification inspections and field evaluations, ensuring adherence to performance standards and requirements.
Technical Analysis: Analyze and evaluate examination and test results, using your technical judgment to determine compliance and address any variations.
Quality Audits: Audit customer quality management and assurance programs, ensuring continuous compliance with UL standards.
Independent Decision-Making: Exercise independent discretion and judgment in making technical decisions, interpreting test results, and verifying the accuracy of manufacturers' measuring equipment.
Compliance Reviews: Periodically review manufacturers' production, inspection, and shipping programs to ensure products meet UL requirements.
Corrective Actions: Facilitate and evaluate options for corrective actions when non-compliance is identified.
Communication: Engage with manufacturers, customers, and authorities to conduct certification inspections and address any issues related to the UL Mark.
Technical Assistance: Provide technical assistance across various product categories and inspection methods, utilizing instruments such as micrometers, voltmeters, and ammeters.
Documentation: Accurately document examination results, variations, and test outcomes, maintaining logs for scheduling inspections, time, and expenses.
Continuous Improvement: Integrate continuous improvement concepts into all aspects of the job, proposing changes to UL Policy Manuals and participating in the review of new Follow-Up Services programs.
Collaboration: Coordinate with other UL staff on field reviews and resolve process and engineering issues related to Variation Notices.
Safety Engineering: Apply Hazardous Based Safety Engineering (HBSE) principles as needed, ensuring compliance and safety.
Quality Assurance: Assist in the implementation of quality-based inspection programs and review the work of other staff members.
Performs other duties as directed.
Bachelors' degree or diploma from an accredited university through a formal program of study in Engineering or relevant Engineering Discipline (such as Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology or Physics but not limited to these disciplines only) and generally two years directly related experience.
Candidates must reside in Tijuana
Fluency in English is required.
