First Horizon Bank Intern - Card Fraud Strategy in Metairie, Louisiana

Summary

Our 10-week internship offers a comprehensive and immersive experience for students interested in gaining practical knowledge and skills in the banking industry. You will have the opportunity to complete projects that will help you understand the day-to-day operations and analysis of a credit and debit card fraud department, as well as the chance to receive guidance from experienced professionals in the field, participate in meetings, and network with other interns and associates. By the end of the program, you will have gained valuable insights, built a solid foundation in banking practices, and potentially set the stage for future career opportunities at First Horizon Bank.

Work schedule and number of hours worked per week (minimum: 15 – 25 hours) are flexible, within normal business hours.

The Intern will learn and assist with the day-to-day duties of the Card Fraud Strategy team, including:

  • Collaborate with the fraud prevention team to analyze transaction data using Excel and Cognos.

  • Identify patterns, anomalies, and potentially fraudulent activity.

  • Compile data for further analysis by senior team members.

  • Assist in ad hoc tasks related to fraud prevention.

Qualifications

  • Full-time undergraduate student with anticipated graduation date between December 2024 and June 2025

  • GPA of 2.75 or above

  • Pursuing a degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or a related field

  • Resourcefulness, team-oriented, enthusiastic

  • Entrepreneurial spirit

  • Demonstrated leadership and self-development (work or campus)

  • Ability to interface and network with people at all levels of an organization

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Strategic and critical thinking skills

Computer and Office Equipment Skills

  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data visualization)
