Flexicrew Technical Services Industrial Roofer in Metairie, Louisiana
New Orleans, Louisiana: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking experienced laborers, sheet metal workers, foremen, and superintendents for an industrial roofing company.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Knowledge of the basic safety techniques and procedures
- Attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines according to instructions received
- Ability to organize, plan, and execute work assignments
- Ability to climb ladders, stairways, and scaffolding
- Interpersonal skills necessary to work on a team
- Ability to read and use tape measure, mark, or record distances
- General basic knowledge of construction materials and tools involved in the construction or repair of structures
- Ability to perform general physical activities in construction areas
- Ability to identify problems and communicate them to the foreman in order to accomplish work
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner according to instructions received
Ideal candidate must-haves:
- Must possess a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
- Can pass a background check.
- Can pass drug test (urine and alcohol).
- Currently HAS a valid TWIC card - cannot wait to apply
- Industrial construction experience
- Safety procedures must be followed.
Preferred but not required:
- Experience in roofing or sheet metal.
- OSHA basic plus training.
- Any lift certifications (to be able to drive manlift or forklift).
- Safety training.
- Own tools - typically this tells you if they are experienced.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High School/G.E.D preferred but not required
- Years of Experience: 6 months - 1 year of general construction experience
- Certifications: None required
- Driver License: Not required but it is a plus
- Must be self-motivated, open-minded, and able to accept constructive criticism
