Transportation Funding Specialist II/III/IV:Administers state and federal transportation funded programs. Oversees grants, projects, and programs to include: application, approval, monitoring, audits, investigations, and close-out. Work requires contact with governmental agencies. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence.Essential Duties:Transportation Funding Specialist II:Analyzes highly complex applications and prepares and makes recommendations on program funding; advises when grants, projects, programs are approved, the status, funding matters and when funds become available.Assists with the annual formulation of the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), including verification of compliance with yearly appointments.Keeps abreast of and ensures compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures, and standards pertaining to programs.Processes data for input; maintains and verifies reports; and/or establishes and updates records.Writes internal correspondence, reports, forms, updates and memos concerning programs and projectsUpdates and monitors the TxDOTCONNECT system and PeopleSoft SystemPerforms other job responsibilities as assigned Additional duties for a Transportation Funding Specialist III include:Ensures compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures, and standards pertaining to programsOversees and coordinates the development and distribution of information.Prepares and analyzes advanced applications and prepares and makes recommendations on program funding; reviews and recommends grants, projects, and programs.Performs other job responsibilities as assigned Additional duties for a Transportation Funding Specialist IV include:Oversees and ensures compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures, and standards pertaining to programs.Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
