Position Requirements

These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the performance of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and/or skill required to perform the position.

  • High School diploma and 3 months kitting experience or equivalent education and/or experience.

  • Must be forklift certified within 30 days of hire into the position, which employer will perform.

  • Math skills.

  • Process orientation: Detail oriented;read, analyze and understand work orders/pick lists; use of inventory system scanners.

  • Organization and time management skills.

  • Work with minimal supervision while performing duties.

  • Requiresuse of all plant-designated Personal Protective Equipment, to include but not be limited to; use of safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves, ear plugs, dust mask, etc., as per OSHA and Arnott safety requirements.

  • Employer has attendance and punctuality standards.

Essential Duties 1. Perform the receipt and/or kitting of supplies, materials, and equipment. Load and unload trucks/trailers using material handling equipment including hand truck, or forklift to maintain continuous flow of product. Count, inspect, organize, mark and confirm that delivered goods match the purchase order specifications of quality, condition, and part number. Examine incoming shipments for damage or shortages and notify management of any discrepancies. Complete all necessary computer transactions for items received or kitted and ensure product is managed according to Company procedure.

  1. Fill production work orders for distribution by pulling, grouping, packaging, and supplying kitted parts in a systematic and organized manner to facilitate accurate count verification and completeness of the kit. Use proper techniques for handling product in a safe and damage free manner. Count, inspect, and organize kitted materials to verify that picked items match the production work order. Use scanners to perform appropriate inventory transactions to ensure 100% inventory accuracy.

  2. Load materials by hand or by using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies. Palletize and band material as necessary to secure loads for transport. Transport material to assigned kitting and production staging areas using forklift or other appropriate material handling equipment. Transport material from other campus locations that are destined for the warehouse and perform the appropriate inventory transactions to maintain accurate inventory control for all item movement.

  3. Perform cycle counts to verify inventory on-hand.

  4. Return-to-stock product and perform appropriate inventory transactions to maintain accurate bin locations.

  5. Work with team members to develop process improvement methods and strive to contain costs and reduce waste.

  6. Maintain a clean work area including general care of machines and equipment. Abide by safety regulations to ensure the health, safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment including maintenance and/or housekeeping.

  7. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Environment and Physical Activity

The environment for this position is a warehouse that is subject to weather conditions including extreme heat temperatures can potentially rise to 100 degrees or more for periods of more than one hour; noise is sufficient to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level; hazards including working close to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, exposure to chemicals and working at elevated levels. The worker may be subject to fumes, odors, dusts or mists.

In the course of performing the duties of the position the worker spends time speaking, listening, regularly lifting (up to 50 pounds), carrying, sitting, pulling, pushing, walking, squatting, kneeling, reaching, driv ng and standing for prolonged periods.

Workers must wear safety equipment such as masks and gloves.

The incumbent in this position must interpret documents or instruments, perform detailed work, perform mathematical functions and work as a member of a team.
