Job Title: Test Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Test Technician to join our team long-term. This position offers a contract-to-hire opportunity, focusing on debugging electronics and printed circuit boards (PCBs). The role involves testing and troubleshooting to identify defects with the boards.

Responsibilities

  • Debug electronics and PCBs down to the component level.

  • Test and troubleshoot PCBs to find defects.

  • Use equipment such as network analyzers and signal analyzers to identify high-end frequencies.

  • Read and interpret schematics.

  • Identify electrical components and understand their functions.

  • Use digital multimeters, frequency counters, signal generators, oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, and vector signal generators.

  • Perform in-circuit/flying probe test and debug (HP3070, Genrad, Spea).

  • Conduct functional/bench tests.

  • Hand solder through-hole and SMT components, including sizes down to 0402.

  • Write test documents and procedures.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of electronics education (AA degree, military, or equivalent).

  • Over 5 years of PCB debug experience to the component level.

  • Ability to debug RF circuitry.

  • Proficiency in reading schematics.

  • Experience with digital multimeters, frequency counters, signal generators, oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, and vector signal generators.

  • Computer knowledge with Windows, programming software, J-TAG, and Xilinx.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with in-circuit/flying probe test and debug.

  • Functional/bench test experience.

  • Hand soldering of through-hole and SMT components down to 0402 sizes.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience writing test documents and procedures.

Work Environment

The work environment is an electronic manufacturing setting that is very clean and orderly. Employees have their own workbenches and personal workspace. There are two shift options: Monday-Wednesday from 6:00am-6:00pm with a half-day on Thursday, or Thursday half-day with Friday-Sunday from 6:00am-6:00pm.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Meridian, Idaho.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $79040.00/yr.

Health, vision, dental, 401k wtih match, pay increases, paid time off, holiday.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Meridian,ID.
