Staff Accountant Position
We are currently seeking a skilled individual to join our client's team as a Staff Accountant in their Meriden, CT office. This role will work closely with the Finance Director and is a full-time position, operating Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.
Responsibilities:
Conduct precise general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
Reconcile bank accounts with the general ledger on a weekly and month-end basis.
Support the preparation of month-end financial statements, forecasts, and annual budgets.
Maintain accurate records for fixed assets and depreciation.
Perform necessary analysis for the month-end closing process.
Assist with the preparation of annual audits and tax returns.
File monthly sales and use tax returns.
Prepare property tax returns.
Participate in closing activities.
Prepare journal entries for accounts.
Review and reconcile general ledger accounts, analyze variances.
Investigate and resolve outstanding items.
Handle AR collections for overdue accounts.
Take on various projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
3 - 5 years of experience in a staff accounting role with general ledger responsibilities.
High proficiency in Excel.
Strong team player, able to collaborate effectively with colleagues; approachable, helpful, and cooperative.
Salary: Up to 80K
