Family owned and growing steel service center in Meriden is looking for the right experienced candidate to join our team. We are looking to fill an immediate opening to operate the Kinetics plasma table. This is a plasma table that can plasma cut, countersink, counterbore, hole interpolate, bevel cut, chamfer cut, drill, mill, tap, and parts etch. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

-Keep machine running

• Check speed and feed

-Proper fulfillment of work orders

-Program and / or load pre-drawn files via onboard programming software

-Loading/unloading material via forklift and crane

-Maintain clean work area

-Use of hand/power tools as needed

• Chip and clean parts

• Keep rolling inventory of consumables, gasses, and coolants

• Cut up skeletons and remove drops from area

• Check coolant levels

• Check filters for air and dust

• Check brass pins and tables for cleanliness

-Support and assist in other duties around the shop as they arise

-Work safely and accurately

Candidate requirements: -Must be able to read a tape measure

-Must Speak and Read English

-Must be at least 18 years of age

-Good work ethic and attitude

-Experience with plasma cutting

-Ability to read and interpret blue prints and drawings

-Basic and shop math knowledge

-Ability to properly read and use measuring tools as required

-Forklift certification preferred

-Ability to lift at least 50lbs. by yourself

-Must be able to work overtime when needed

-Must be able to work in a fast paced environment

Pay based upon experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 -? per hour
