Description
Jackie Meza with Robert Half is seeking a Staff Accountant for a thriving, fast-paced company. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Merced, California area, at a company where effort is rewarded. In this role, it will be critical for you to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. This role is a great opportunity for someone who wants to participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. What you get to do every single day
Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision
In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Requirements - Be detailed, flexible, and organized
Experience with WIP - Work In Progress
Financial Statement experience desired
Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
Adeptness in Sage 100
Foundational knowledge in Sales Tax
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience
Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Ability to meet deadlines
Skilled with ERP systems
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
