FTE: 1.000000 Shift: Shift 2 Schedule: 8hr shifts with start times between 11-13 depending on unit needs. Job Summary: Under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse in the Integrated Procedural Platform (IPP), provides age appropriate care in a cultural and ethnically sensitive manner. Performs routine service duties and basic nursing procedure necessary to provide for care, comfort, and safety of patients in the perioperative and/or procedural areas; assists patients with tasks outlined in their clinic competency assessment related to basic nursing skills, personal care skills, basic restorative services, and activities of daily living. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Incumbents in the position prior to October 1, 2007 may substitute this educational requirement with the following statement - Ability to read, write and communicate complicated verbal and written communications at a level normally acquired through completion of a high school education.TRAINING DESCRIPTION: Completion of the Critical Care Tech course or equivalency within 6 months of hire date. Successful completion of a skill competency checklist (validated by a Registered Nurse) is required. Successful completion of arrhythmia recognition course and successful orientation to the monitor room to work as a monitor technician is required within 6 months of hire. Candidates with prior monitor technician experience may complete a written competency test to meet this requirement.SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Ability to read & write and communicate verbal and written communication.LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification is required, otherwise must be currently enrolled in a nursing program and able to provide documentation from an accredited school for professional nurses indicating successful completion of the basic nursing course which encompass all of the criteria noted by the State of Wisconsin administrative code and a minimum experience of one acute care nursing medical/surgical clinical rotation.
