AutoZone, Inc. Senior Architectural Drafter in Memphis, Tennessee

We are seeking an experienced Senior Architectural Drafter to contribute to our Real Estate division. If you’re passionate about architectural design, attention to detail, and ensuring compliance with standards, this role is for you. Come be a part of our dynamic team!

Location: Memphis, TN Hybrid role

Job Functions:

Produce High-Quality Building Drawings:

Create accurate and detailed architectural drawings for our retail locations.

Collaborate with the Project Manager to maintain high standards and quality assurance.

Consulting Engineer Management:

Work closely with various consulting engineers (Structural, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, etc.).

Ensure their designs align with our standards before submission to municipal approving agencies.

Site Plans and Fixture Layouts:

Prepare site plans and coordinate fixture layouts with our Merchandising team.

Cost Control and Pre-Construction Budget:

Assist the Regional Preconstruction Manager in managing costs during the pre-construction phase.

Approvals and Code Compliance:

Collaborate with the Project Manager to obtain municipal and governing agency approvals.

Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.

Utility Coordination:

Coordinate with utility companies to align electrical, telephone, and natural gas services with design intent.

Bid Packages and Construction Documents:

Prepare Design Exchange bid packages.

Ensure accurate and engineered construction drawings and bid documents are provided to the Construction team.

Revision Management:

Address any modifications to drawings resulting from construction issues.

Issue revised drawings to the Construction team.

Non-Standard AFI Items:

Provide specifications and documentation for non-standard architectural features as required.

Exterior Signage Integration:

Ensure that all exterior sign locations and sizes are accurately reflected in the construction drawings.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years working with an architectural design firm.

Education:

Completion of a formal training program in graphic design, architectural technology, or engineering.

Associate's degree or 3-4 years' experience

Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Project Management Skills

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, and Word.
