Health First Supervisor SCM Logistics & Operations - General Stores in Melbourne, Florida

*POSITION SUMMARY: *

To be fully engaged in providing high performing services to Health First focused on Engagement, Quality/No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship. Provide excellent quality, competitive value, and outstanding service by facilitating, planning, organizing, and executing process improvement. Provide leadership and mentoring by supporting goals and expectations in the processing of receipt, inventory, storage, distribution, compliance, and shipping of medical supplies and equipment, efficiently, and in a cost-effective manner, while providing the highest level of professional customer service by supporting customers. Manage warehousing and distribution channels to ensure material needs are met throughout the Supply Chain process. Determine work schedules and manage compliance of the timekeeping system and process. Plan, organize, supervise, and participate in the operations and activities of the Warehouse by training, coaching, and evaluating assigned staff. Perform annual and mid-year performance evaluations, recommending to the Manager where opportunities exist to improve individual associate performance.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Lead the planning and directing Distribution Center Operational activities, including shipping, receiving, inventory control and distribution of materials. Ensure high level of accuracy that all material is placed into proper location, material rotation is applied, correct quantities, and items are pulled to fill customer orders, quality assurance guidelines are followed, and area is maintained in clean and orderly fashion.
  2. Implement, and maintain inventory control processes, ensuring security and accountability of inventory, documenting transactions, and supporting inventory systems to maximize turn ratios.
  3. Oversee the management and control of patient records. Ensure contracted activity complies with Health First Records Management Policy & Procedures to provide for retention and authorized file destruction.
  4. Manage materials in support of Disaster/Hurricane activities. Work closely with other staff members to ensure supplies and equipment are prepositioned or packaged in the event of need. Deliver and aid in shelter setup when plans are activated.
  5. Ensure compliance with Restricted Prescription Drug Distributor requirements as defined by the Florida Drug and Cosmetic Act, Chapter 499, and Florida statutes. Ensure associates are properly trained and comply with policy in identification, receiving, storage, issue, disposal, and documentation. Maintain documentation on all medications and solutions as defined in the Florida Restricted Prescription Drug Distributor requirements.
  6. Plan, organize, supervise, and participate in daily warehouse staff, operation, and activities, including the receipt, documentation, compliance, storage, safety, and distribution of equipment and supplies and maintenance of inventory.
  7. Examine productivity and take action to maximize operational output, ensure that key performance indicators are achieved, and monitor metrics to achieve established goals.
  8. Supervise the processing of requisitions/requests to invoice for reimbursements of warehouse codes; complete requisitions for needed materials to assure adequate stock.
  9. Operate Materials Management Information Systems and actively participate and support essential IT operations and improvements, including downtime strategy, data entry, etc. Prepare and maintain a variety of records and logs and prepare reports as required; maintain inventory of items in the warehouse; file records as required.
    1. Operate and demonstrate use of specialized warehouse equipment as necessary; assure proper and routine maintenance and servicing of warehouse vehicles and equipment. Observe health and safety regulations; maintain warehouse in a clean, safe, and orderly condition. Ensure quality systems and regulatory compliance with OSHA, TJC, HIPAA, etc. Evaluated by inspections and outcomes. Maintain a vehicle fleet for the Distribution Center and ensures proper vehicle operations and compliance with OSHA and Department of Transportation regulations.
    2. Assist management in establishing warehouse standards and procedures; advise of budget-related needs; assist in the bid process for various supplies as required.
    3. Performs other functions as needed to maintain and improve operation and customer service.**

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: * High school diploma or equivalent *Experience: *Two (2) years shipping, inventory, warehouse storage, distribution, materials management, or combination of a related field; One (1) year as lead or supervising others *License:N/A Certifications: N/A *Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: *

  • Warehousing and stock control methods and procedures, Inventory methods and Practices, Space utilization, Health and safety regulations, Record-keeping techniques.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of supply shipping, inventory management, warehouse storage, distribution, and rules regulations and related safety requirements.
  • Respond quickly to customer concerns regarding availability/status of supply orders.
  • Work effectively with all levels of management and employees.
  • Microsoft Office and other systems related to role; familiar with handheld terminals.
  • Problem solve to remove obstacles, meet customer delight and achieve objectives.
  • Time management to prioritize for operational efficiency to meet desired outcome.
  • Sound judgement to plan and achieve goals.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Associates degree in Materials Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field Experience: 4 years’ in materials management/warehousing/distribution environment preferred. Healthcare supply experience strongly desired Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Implementing department operational efficiencies.
  • Familiar with facility automation.
  • Demonstrated improvement in compliance and safety measures.
  • Operating mechanical vehicles and devices in a warehouse or distribution setting.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Physically agile; requires walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or crouching majority of the shift.
  • Heavy work that frequently includes lifting or moving objects up to 100 pounds or more with or without assistance.
  • May require moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces, including reaching out and above shoulders or over head.
  • May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to 90% of the assigned shift.
  • May be exposed to inside environments and outside environments with extreme temperatures, air contamination, dirt, grease or water.
  • May require working with biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following OSHA and CDC Guidelines.
  • May operate various types of manual and motorized equipment used in the transportation of materials.
  • May be exposed to intense noise or vibration and awkward or confined work position.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.
  • Workspace may vary from open to confined, on site or remote.
  • May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
