The Opportunity:

KBR’s Land Domain team is currently seeking a Systems Safety Engineer to assist in the through-life support of a number of Defence capabilities and enablers. You will be part of a multi-disciplined engineering team working with various stakeholders across the domain including CASG.

Responsibilities:

The Systems Safety Engineer's responsibilities include (but are not limited to): ​

  • Review, provide advice to project and sustainment staff on specification, design, verification and sustainment matters, specifically in regard to safety assessment and mitigation of risk.

  • Review, p roduce and maintain Technical Risk Registers in support of Capability Technical Certification in accordance with organisational objectives, guidelines and doctrine.

  • Review, produce and maintain Hazard Logs, Hazard Analysis Reports, Safety Data Sheets and Safety Case Reports in support of Capability Technical Certification in accordance with organisational objectives and guidelines.

  • Conducting or participating in mandated system reviews and/or facilitating SSWGs

  • Sharing safety related knowledge and expertise amongst project team members, management and stakeholders

  • Conducting and/or witnessing safety related testing.

  • Review, produce engineering documents and artefacts including formal Engineering Risk Assessments and Reports that inform decision making processes in general, and specifically in regard to the application of organisational and legislative guidelines.

    As the ideal candidate you will bring:

Essential:

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical / Electrical / Systems or a related discipline.

  • Strong organisational, coordination and analytical skills.

  • Strong client and staff engagement, relationship and communications skills.

  • HOLD an active NV1 (or above) Defence Security Clearance (Essential).
