What we’re doing
The Senior Commercial Finance Analyst sits within the Finance and Business Services group, headed up by the Chief Financial Officer. The Finance and Business Services team, or FaBs as we like to call them, is the engine room of REA Group. The team is comprised of Finance, Risk, Procurement, Pricing, Contracts, Customer Collections, Payments, Facilities Management and our Customer and Business Systems IT development teams.
This cross- functional group of individuals who are the best in their fields, provide strategic commercial input and guidance around decisions across all levels of the business, while continually improving the ‘behind the scenes’ of REA to support our people, drive efficiencies and maximise customer satisfaction. The FaBs group plays an integral role with our Residential, Commercial, Developer, Media & Property Related Services and Consumer & Brand teams, as well as providing support to all other functional areas of the business around the globe.
As a Senior Commercial Analyst, you’ll be a key member of the group reporting team and the broader commercial finance team, where you will work together with the EGMs and Leadership teams to elevate commercial acumen and financial accountability within the business to deliver financial growth and efficiencies in a scalable manner.
In this role you will support the Elara business based in India in the following ways:
Analysis of monthly, quarterly and full year business unit results against budget, forecast and prior year
Feeding into the group consolidation, gathering insights into performance from around the business for internal, intercompany and external audiences
A key contributor in Board reporting on monthly financial results, full year forecasts, and annual budgets for the business unit.
Maintain and analyse business unit metrics including capex and headcount (including forecasts and budgets)
Ensuring integrity and accuracy of financial data input into the annual budget process, including assessment of business unit assumptions and drivers
Provide weekly revenue analysis for the business unit
Provide ad hoc analysis and insights with a view to maximizing commercial outcomes.
Maintain the accuracy and completeness of financial information for the business unit (general ledger data, reconciliations, financial reporting packs)
Partnering with the local team to ensure compliance with Group finance and risk policies and compliance with accounting standards (IFRS and US GAAP)
Partnering with local teams to deliver on monthly results reporting, quarterly and half yearly financial reporting requirements
Provide input into Group Reporting technical accounting memos relevant to the business unit as required
Collaborating with and advising key stakeholders on accounting considerations
Reviewing financial reporting procedures to identify and implement ongoing process improvements
Drive improvements in reporting/analysis for operational management, executive leadership and Board level reporting
Focus on process improvement, identifying opportunities and implementing solutions
Keep abreast of property industry trends and their implications for REA
Who we’re looking for
Someone with runs on the board – Experience in an ASX listed environment or Big 4 accounting firm
CA or CPA qualified
Advanced Excel skills
Analysis, modelling, budgeting and forecasting experience
Strong initiative; willingness to take ownership
Looks at tricky situations through a solutions-focused lens
Work productively in a fast paced and agile environment
Exceptional communications skills
Demonstrated commercial acumen and stakeholder management
