Our water team offers services across the full water cycle, delivering major pipelines, large pumping stations and advanced water, wastewater, and recycling treatment plants .

We address critical water cycle challenges and provide solutions through adopting flexible program delivery models and ongoing asset management programs. We are the market leader in program management consulting, supporting key water utilities to achieve phased savings in capital expenditure, while delivering the best environmental and community outcomes that keep the cost of water bills low for millions of Australian people and businesses.

We deliver water resources services and expert hydrology and drainage solutions to improve water management and enhance livability . We do this by combining leading strategies with the implementation of high-performing and scalable technology to help our customers solve their biggest challenges .

We also provide sustainable and digitally enabled solutions across a range of industrial and renewable energy sectors, including biogas, to design, deliver and maintain some of the largest biogas plants in Australia, often linked to wastewater facilities.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer with Water Industry Design or Construction Experience.

You’ll be a key member of our Water team, who has secured a variety of challenging projects. This includes supporting Melbourne Water in delivering better outcomes for the industry, community, and environment through its latest Engineering Services Panel. KBR is part of a team (known as Water4Good) that is striving to create a positive legacy through supporting social and sustainable initiatives on projects as well as a number of regional water utility panel positions (including Gippsland Water, Barwon Water, Yarra Valley Water, Southern Rural Water & Goulburn Valley Water).

As part of our team, you will play a key role in team development of junior engineers and strongly contribute to client relationships, technical oversight, and the commercial success of the business unit. You will collaborate with a diverse team of talented people who are committed to supporting our clients through long-term partnership arrangements; not to mention a key contributor to delivering projects.

Our team is also exploring new ways to integrate virtual reality and artificial intelligence on projects, offering you the opportunity to future proof and broaden your skills in the digital sphere.

Who are you?

We are looking for a delivery focused Senior Civil Engineer looking to take the next step and join our high performing Victoria Water team. You will be motivated by achievement, outcome-focused and present professionally and in a friendly manner to peers, clients, and stakeholders.  

You will have previous experience in a similar senior role in the water sector and effective communication and people skills . You will have experience in strategic planning and investigation and can produce high-quality reports and proposals .

You will have the following skills and experience:

  • Hold an accredited Bachelor of Civil Engineering

  • Design experience with knowledge of industry standards. Preferably experience with undertaking designs in accordance with the Melbourne Region Water Authority Design Standards (MRWA WSAA Standards).

  • Proven ability to work in, and lead, engineering, and design modelling teams, work directly with Water Authority clients, and manage projects to scope, budget and program.

  • Previous experience gained within an engineering consultancy environment.

  • You are a Chartered Engineer (CPEng) or have eligibility to apply for this accreditation.
