Overview
ROLE PURPOSE:
The Performance Account Manager’s purpose is to assist the team in shaping and defining industry-leading performance media strategies for our clients across Zenith, with the focus to deliver outstanding value whilst working with an integrated service model tailored to their individual needs.
This role is a hybrid of media planning/account management as well as campaign implementation/activations across paid search and paid social channels.
The Performance Account Manager is accountable for the following key outputs:
Team Management
Accountable for training executives/coordinators to ensure that they are highly skilled in performance media implementation, with emphasis on paid search and paid social
Manage the team to ensure account deliverables including campaign set up, reporting, optimisation tactics, quality checks and best practice are adhered to
Client Management
- Day to day client team & client contact across all things performance media
Craft Expertise
Confident in compiling strong SEM & Paid Social responses and presenting these directly to clients -with the opportunity to plan other digital channels by assisting the Directors
Assist agency & client education around all areas of performance media
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Ensure the Performance Executives are working effectively - coached, trained, inspired and organised to deliver on targets
Ensure quality controls are in place from planning/buying/optimisation and reporting for the team
Build new and existing campaign accounts ensuring a high level of detail is observed and are aligned to the client brief
Deliver exceptional client service by ensuring smooth operations through the team - returning emails within 24 hours, and taking care of expectations to deliver on timelines
Make sure the team are billing/pacing and reporting on spends with 100% accuracy whilst ensuring digital compliance
Direct and implement the adoption of bid management technology across all client campaigns
Direct optimisation decisioning and mentor junior members of the team in application of optimisations & setting up bid rules - identify areas for account improvement and feedback to the paid search team
Work hand in hand with the Performance Account Director and Planning Teams to develop digital media plans, which are well thought out - find ways to innovate and answer the marketing challenge
Compile implementation planning slides with the assistance of wider digital and planning teams and present confidently to clients
Day to day client team & client contact for the performance media domain
Work collaboratively with agency partners and tech vendors to deliver best-in-class results
Pr oduct
Be our clients’ go-to performance media expert - hold in-depth planning and activation knowledge across biddable platforms and key digital platforms e.g. analytics platforms/proprietary SEM tools
Qualified on all key systems and tools - know the systems well enough to directly address a problem or know who to ask to assist in addressing it. You'll need to be able to help and guide teams on the most effective and efficient use of tools & optimum interpretation of outputs
Vital role in controlling the day-to-day operational effectiveness and efficiencies of the team across performance media products
Internal & External Relationships
Direct performance media implementation responses from a planning and strategic perspective
Work closely with the planning and client teams to ensure integrated digital strategies across channels
Develop and maintain strong relationships with all biddable technology partners - continue to drive joint business plans with our key search partners & maintain strong relationships with our stakeholders within Publicis Groupe to ensure that the product delivers benefits to clients and meets our KPIs
Commercial
Be mindful and work with the Performance Account Director/Group Performance Director on your team’s commercial effectiveness
Quality control adherence to deals, negotiations, and with timely & accurate forecasting
Ensure the team’s billing and reconciliation processes are completed in a timely and accurate manner
YOUR EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 4 years experience in media buying/activations across paid search and paid social channels - ideally in the marketing & advertising industry
Media planning experience across paid search and paid social is advantageous
Must have experience and working knowledge of Google paid search platforms (Google Ads, SA360), Meta Ads Manager, DV360, CM360, the Microsoft Advertising platform, as well as key industry tools and key analytics platforms e.g. Google Analytics/GA360
Ideally has some SEO knowledge and knowledge of how paid and organic search work together
ABOUT YOU:
Media Planning experience - can write effective implementation planning decks, with 100% attention to detail
Team management experience - can effectively motivate, inspire and organise their team to deliver
Problem solving - is across workflow, solves problems as they arise, and knows when to escalate issues to the Paid Search Director to help solve problems
Has analytical experience - can confidently analyse data, and write compelling insights
Strong attention to detail - all tasks need to be completed with 100% accuracy
Commercial knowledge - ability to understand the client business and category and work with the Paid Search Director to identify new opportunities
Contributes positively to agency culture and meetings
Strong team management skills to ensure Executives are mentored and developed to create a high performing paid search/paid social team
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) - can confidently present and construct well-substantiated paid search/paid social strategies
