Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Production Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our pesticide/herbicide free, year-round vertical farming operations. This role is crucial for ensuring that our production runs at optimal output while maintaining high standards for productivity, quality, food safety, and personal safety. The position operates on the 1st shift, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with overtime as needed.
Responsibilities
Ensure production runs at optimal output and enforce standards for productivity, quality, food safety, and personal safety.
Communicate regularly with the Plant Manager for continuous improvement and recommend ways to increase productivity and efficiency.
Allocate tasks to employees and provide daily goals, constructive criticism, and positive reinforcement.
Assist with new and existing employee training programs, providing feedback to employees and management.
Complete yearly employee evaluations and disciplinary actions in coordination with upper management.
Handle employee confrontations professionally and assist with conflict resolution.
Work alongside production employees to help fulfill orders and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
Oversee end-of-day cleaning and sanitation, ensuring the production team finishes on time.
Communicate regularly with Customer Service for daily production planning and order fulfillment.
Track orders and report inventory, assisting Customer Service to ensure orders are fulfilled and staged appropriately for drivers.
Work overtime hours as needed, including occasional weekend coverage.
Serve as a member of the Food Safety Team.
Essential Skills
5+ years of supervisory experience in production.
Experience in shipping and receiving.
Knowledge of production, industrial operations, and lean manufacturing.
Strong skills in continuous process improvement.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
3-5 years of leadership experience in a production setting, preferably in a food facility.
Excellent communication skills, positive and professional demeanor.
Knowledge of food safety rules, regulations, and requirements.
Exceptional problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
