Timber Products Company General Foreman - Plywood Manufacturing in Medford, Oregon

POSITION SUMMARY

Timber Products Company is looking for a General Foreman for its Plywood Manufacturing mill in Medford, OR. This position supports the company in meeting its production goals by supervising all activities of employees on their assigned shift; ensures a safe and efficient work environment by communicating and managing Company established quality, production, safety and human resource policies.

Shift : May be assigned to any shift - Day: 7am-3pm, Swing: 3pm-11pm, or Graveyard: 11pm-7am

MAJOR TASKS

• Supervises the entire production process while managing staff (salaried and hourly), equipment, and materials to achieve the highest safety, quality and production levels.

• Resolves conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably.

• Maintains quality control standards to maximize company profitability and achieve customer satisfaction.

• Regularly inspects the mill for maintenance and safety problems and then reports to the appropriate staff members.

• Conducts individual meetings and leads crew meetings to communicate pertinent information to employees.

• Completes administrative paperwork and reporting related to production reports, scheduling, personnel actions, payroll and safety.

• Participates in selection process and recommends applicants for hire.

• Uses independent judgment in identifying and establishing long and short-term work goals and organizing and directing resources needed to meet these goals

• Responsible for supporting and enforcing company policies and procedures.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• A BA/BS degree in business administration, production management or related field preferred, but not required.

• A minimum of four years of supervisory experience, preferably in wood products or other manufacturing environment.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Must have strong time management and decision making skills.

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions and concerns.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

• Leadership and motivational skills that allow candidates to achieve productivity, quality and safety goals.

• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and e-mail, and ability to learn and use company specific software.
