DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an Architectural Designer 2, you will be responsible for performing professional level architectural work to include project design, project review and analysis, site surveys, and other duties necessary to effectively manage construction projects for the Department of Corrections. In this role, you will determine the scope of work and cost estimates using site surveys, available data, interfaces with customers, and other pertinent actions and information.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment (37.50 hours per week). Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: Telework (part-time) is available based on operational needs with a minimum of 2 days in the office. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Mechanicsburg. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 60 or 65. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $64,959.00 (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Architectural Designer 1; or Two years of professional architectural experience which involved designing components of commercial, institutional, or educational buildings or structures, and a bachelor's degree in architecture or architectural engineering or a closely related field which included major course work in architectural design; or An equivalent combination of experience and training in architectural design work.
