Director - Credit Review Chief of Staff Group

Overview :

Serve as key support to the Chief of Staff for the Credit Review team. Capital One’s Credit Review group has responsibility for providing review and assurance to the Board, Regulators, and External Auditors and other key stakeholders regarding the effectiveness of credit business practices, credit controls and asset quality.

Job Description :

Lead and Support Executive and Organizational Management Routines:

  • Works with the Chief of Staff in developing and iterating management practices (SLT and Organization) to improve transparency, efficiency and effectiveness of the organization

  • Supports Chief of Staff in high stakes meetings – Executive and Board materials, Regulators, management meetings and more – by working with the team to build the right messages and content, and assists with deckbuilding

  • Manage resource planning and optimization efforts ensuring alignment with strategy including, but not limited to, planning, budget management, headcount workspace management. Collaborate with internal partners such as HR and Finance

  • Identify opportunities for and develop innovative approaches to process improvements

  • Aid Chief of Staff in regular reviews of strategic goals, initiatives and key metrics. Hone in on the strategic, operational and organizational areas for leverage

  • Drive collaboration across all areas of Credit Risk to ensure consistency, sharing of best practices and optimization of resources and talent

  • Consolidate and optimize the reporting process across issues, MRA validations, observations etc. for senior level and regulatory consumption

  • Bring design thinking into the organization in order to transform workflow, policies, procedures, guidelines, requirements and standards

  • Design and drive new communications initiatives within Credit Review and across Capital One

  • Own special projects as they arise, based on business needs

Help Drive the Strategy:

  • Aid strategic planning sessions on quarterly and annual basis

  • Collaborate with innovation team to establish future data needs of the organization to drive efficiency

  • Additional projects to be identified and made priority by Leadership Team

Be an extension of Sr. Director, Credit Review Chief of Staff:

  • Engage as extension of the Chief of Staff to support the Credit Review organization and it’s internal / external partners

  • Develop and foster relationships within direct and extended team in order to be an informed and helpful sounding board and thought partner

  • Must bring a positive, can-do attitude and demeanor, and be agile in order to flex with evolving and emerging business needs

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

- At least 8 years of experience working with internal business partners

- At least 4 years of business consulting, project management or change management experience

- At least 4 years of experience presenting in front of senior leadership teams

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master’s Degree

- At least 9 years of experience implementing change within a large organization

- At least 5 years of experience leading process & controls initiatives

- At least 3 years of experience in Credit
