What You Will Do :

Guidehouse is seeking a Change Management Consultant to join the Defense and Security Segment (D&S) Defense & Intelligence (D&I) Practice Area. The candidate will support a D&I team dedicated to advancing the mission of a Defense program office.  

The Change Management Consultant will provide subject matter expertise on advanced workforce and organizational development experience, validating content and methodology against industry best practices. This includes supporting day-to-day operational meetings with client sponsors and consulting leaders. The Consultant is expected to have experience managing project workstreams, advising clients, and creating effective reports and presentations for the client and internal executives.

Typical duties include:

  • Supporting the advancement of Department of Defense (DoD) Cyber functional initiatives and collaborating with stakeholders on guidance/communications products on cyber workforce policies and procedures.

  • Producing high-quality written and graphical deliverables to support workforce development strategy and program implementation initiatives.

  • Providing oversight for the development and execution of market research and benchmarking analysis to evaluate, integrate or improve program or project productivity.

  • Possess and apply expertise on multiple complex work assignments. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.

  • Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems.

  • Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.

  • Conducts organizational studies and evaluations, designs systems and procedures, conducts work simplification and measurement studies, and prepares reports, procedures, draft regulations, guidelines, briefings, and related documentation to assist management in operating more efficiently and effectively.

  • Performs data collection, interviewing, data modeling, project testing, and creation of performance measurements to support project objectives.

  • Performs research and prepares and conducts business analyses and studies, needs assessments, requirements analysis/definition and cost/benefit analyses to align business systems, solutions, and initiatives.

  • Develops, analyzes, evaluates, advises on, and or improves the effectiveness of management controls, processes, information and documentation systems, and similar functions of management.

  • Develops business methods for problem solving, process change, and solutions implementation ensuring enterprise-wide integration.

  • Identifies best practices, assesses performance measurement, and research, collect, and verify data and translates it into strategic and operational guidance.

  • Guides and assists clients through a wide range of management and organizational and business improvement and modernization initiatives.

  • Supports customer requirements for communication of organizational vision, mission, and strategy.

  • Prepares background papers, briefings, and speeches; creates web and portal content; and performs similar organizational messaging activities.

  • Supports customers in the development, implementation, and maintenance of strategy, doctrine, standards, policies, and procedures.

What You Will Need :

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED SECRET Federal or DoD security clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in workforce development or a related field.

  • Signature of a letter of commitment for work expected to start in or around September 2024.

  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of business, both written and verbal.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.

  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously, prioritize and plan work activities while meeting respective deadlines.

  • Detail-oriented, flexible, proactive, and able to multitask quickly to adapt to changing client priorities and respond to ad hoc requests.

What Would Be Nice To Have :

  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in workforce development, organization design, culture transformation, change management, and/or strategic communication.

  • Ten (10) or more years of experience consulting for government clients, particularly for DoD clients.

  • One (1) or more certifications in organization development, change management, cyber, policy, or related fields.

  • Experience developing and redesigning processes to meet evolving business requirements.

  • Ability to assume ownership of significant portions of tasks while collaborating with a close-knit team.

  • Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. 

  • Ability to develop and implement flexible approaches to identifying client challenges and solutions.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
