Steampunk Business Analyst in McLean, Virginia
Overview
As a Business Analyst and Scrum Master you will lead the collection, capture, and management of mission user needs from prioritization, concept development, and feature writing to support development and deployment using Agile methodologies. Provide expertise in business process and system analysis, design, improvement, and implementation efforts and in translating business process needs into technical requirements. Provide organizational and strategic planning for a wide variety of technical and functional environments. Provide expertise in, but not limited to, Configuration Management, Strategic Planning, Knowledge Management, Business Analysis and Technical Analysis.
Contributions
Responsibilities include:
Envision, develop, and createrequirementsto improve tools to streamline processes to gain efficiencies and improve key metrics.
Apply different techniques to facilitate meetings and workshops, create a shared understanding with stakeholders, and engage team-members to produce product and portfolio roadmaps.
Collaborates with stakeholders and product teams to decompose large epics into features and user stories that can be understood and approved by members of the development team.
Facilitate Increment and planning sessions with clients and team members to ensure that planned work is well defined, planned, articulated, and understood.
Handle administrative functions in Salesforce applications including maintenance of user accounts, profiles, roles, security and data access, setting up workflows, sharing rules and permission sets.
Keep up-to-date on new Salesforce features and help determine if we should implement internally.
Use excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and present findings and recommendations.
Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Remove impediments to ensure smooth project execution.
Encourage and support Agile best practices and team collaboration.
Track sprint progress and report key metrics to stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of functioning as a business analyst for the federal government
Scrum Master experience
Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and business analysis principles
Eligible to obtain and maintain and government security clearance
Able and willing to work independently and in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, with minimal supervision
Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as excellent communication skills, verbal and written to both technical and non-technical audiences that are in a geographically dispersed environment (conference calls, face-to-face)
Ability to produce high quality technical documentation and analysis
Take initiative to recommend process improvements and demonstrate creative thinking
Demonstrate sharp, analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
Preferred:
- Certified Scrum Master certification

Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,000 to $140,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
