2nd Shift - HOURS: Monday – Thursday 6:00pm – 4:30am
3rd Shift - HOURS: Friday – Sunday 6am – 6pm
The Materials Handler II works closely with the Assistant Supervisor and Supervisor to ensure the success of the day-to-day operations of the RxO Stockroom team. This associate helps to identify and resolve process and associate issues that result in inventory discrepancies. This is a hands-on position that assists the Supervisory team with managing labor, supporting and guiding the work flow and processes, training/cross-training new and tenured associates in all functions required. They help to provide continuous improvement ideas and implementation of new processes to team members to ensure consistency and understanding.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Understand product/data flow through the entire RxO Stockroom process (i.e. Receiving unload, Receiving, Putaway, Letdown, Picking, Staging, and Shipping processes)
Identify, diagnose, document, and resolve associate/process/software issues – understanding the root cause and steps to correction
Communicate internally and externally, via in person, phone, and email with support, associates, leadership, etc.
Perform visual audits of associates following SOP’s for accuracy and consistency
Support management team by ensuring that all department KPIs are being met, including but not limited to job stagnancy, putaway cart aging, open POs, etc.
Assist Supervisor with ensuring that all outbound shipping jobs meet their scheduled carrier pick ups
Monitor the quality of outbound product/deliveries from the DC’s to the consumers
Be a point of contact for associate questions on errors, processes, and Lab job discrepancies
Help to Identify the Root Cause of discrepancy (overages/shortages/inventory movement)
Completes projects and tasks as assigned by Leadership Team
Maintain clean and safe work environment
Assist Supervisors and/or lead associates when necessary
Assist with training current and new DC associates on process changes, system updates etc.
Participate in/or conduct departmental meetings with the absence of the Assistant Supervisor
Make recommendations for improving the processes and procedures
Be proficient in all functions within their direct area of responsibility
Be a positive role model for other associates and display enthusiastic behavior
Lead by example
Help with trouble product issues
High School Diploma or equivalent
+2 Years related experience
Excellent mathematical aptitude/numerical recognition
Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to effectively communicate with both associates and leadership
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Technical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot
Ability to learn and maintain Warehouse Management software training
Knowledge of SAP
Knowledge of PC’s and working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Excel and Outlook
Ability to use material handling equipment (pallet jacks, ladders, cart, etc) and lift/carry supplies up to 40 lbs
Ability to work in a standing/walking position for up to 12 hours
Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as requested by Supervisors and Manager
Ability to maintain confidentially
Prior logistics/warehouse experience preferred
Knowledge of general warehouse processes and paper flow
