Job Description Summary

The “Solution Architect – Market Management Systems” contributes to the design and the delivery of the Software Solution to end customers. She/He is working in close collaboration with other members of the solution delivery team (Delivery Manager, developers, software integrators, testers), and his mission is to ensure best in class and optimal technical design to meet customer functional and non-functional requirements, project budget and timescale.

As a “Solution Architect – Market Management Systems”, you will drive, validate and audit the design of the solution during the different phases of the execution of a project. These phases begin from the Tendering stage and continue till the system acceptance in the customer site (Scope Review, Statement of Work, Solution review, Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests,…).

This is a hybrid role with at least 2 days from the office.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities – Day-to-day

As “Solution Architect – Market Management Systems” you will:

  • Be responsible, in coordination with the Services function (Delivery Manager and Project Manager), for interacting with customers to define, produce and maintain optimal design based on customer needs and solution capabilities.

  • Own the definition and evolution/enhancement of the overall architecture of the solution

  • Facilitate requirements, design and solutions workshops that capture functional and non-functional requirements from the client, and you will own the design deliverables (Statement of Work, Architecture documents), ensure traceability of requirements with solutions proposed.

  • Be responsible for the communication and enforcement of Design to Customer and Key Project Stakeholders.

  • Participates to Agile ceremonies throughout the project execution,

  • Manage involvement of other SMEs (e.g. business analysts, IT / Cybersecurity experts) and make sure their design contributions meet system architecture functional and non-functional requirements

  • Drive excellence in execution through continuous improvement in their segment or domain (best practices and reference material - reference architectures, reference solutions)

  • Collaborate with Product Managers & Engineering (Return on Experience, product enhancements, reference architectures)

  • Build technical expertise in the field of their segment or domain. Deliver technical consultancy services on demand

  • Coordinate knowledge capitalization and dissemination across the Services & Solution Design teams,

  • Be accountable for activities planning, progress reporting, and completing activities in his scope as per approved budget.

Qualifications/Requirements – Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a similar program, with a focus on Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering

  • Exposure to iterative product development and program management techniques including Agile, Safe, Scrum, DevOps…

  • Advanced knowledge in Software architecture in IT/Multi-tier/SOA web context, including implementation of non-functional requirements related to availability, scalability, performances, security, in this context.

  • Languages: Java/J2EE. Knowledge of C++/C# is a plus.

  • Web: JavaScript, HTML, CSS. Knowledge of GWT, Angular is a plus.

  • Framework: Spring, Hibernate, Flowable, Drools

  • Middleware: ActiveMQ Artemis, Apache Kafka, jBoss, Wildfly, Tomcat, Apache http.

  • Web Services: SOAP, REST, OpenAPI/Swagger

  • Relational Database: MS SQL Server

  • Operating systems: Linux and Windows

  • Atlassian Suite, JIRA, Confluence

  • Experience with Linux, Source code Management, Virtualization, Cloud Architecture (AWS and/or Azure), Micro-services architectures,

  • Experience of cloud and cloud native technologies such as containers and Kubernetes,

  • Other : IDE IntelliJ, Java Application profiling (JMeter, JProfiler, … ), XML (JAXB, VTD), JMS, Jenkins, Sonar, Loadbalancer, AWS, Container (K8S, Docker)

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments

  • Professional English level written and spoken

  • Business travel availability

Qualifications/Requirements – Nice to Have

  • Electricity Industry knowledge,

  • Knowledge of emerging energy industry trends and implications on utility customers

  • Experience in Services – Software Commissioning
