Job Description Summary
The Senior Engineer performs a leadership role within GE Hitachi’s Plant Systems Integration teams which focus on development of new advanced nuclear reactor projects (SMR and SFR). You will be responsible for engineering design support within a team environment, working with other disciplines, project/product stakeholders, partner organizations and suppliers to advance plant conceptual and detailed design and successfully deliver a new plants project. You will be part of a large team working on integrating and coordinating multi-discipline activities to support the design of safe and economically superior reactor designs by employing a balance of cutting edge and proven technologies and will be responsible for development and implementation of licensing and technical requirements along with the associated work processes for advanced work in new nuclear plants.

Responsible for Plant Integration Engineering (PIE) activities that support:
• GE's BWRX-300 Small Modular Reactor (SMR) and/or
• Gen-IV reactor technologies including Natrium and ARC sodium fast reactors (SFRs).

Roles and Responsibilities
Demonstrates accountability for cost, schedule, quality, and technical accuracy of assigned tasks.
Provide technical guidance and leadership, oversee project scheduling and resource planning, develop talent through mentorship, and act as the point-of-contact between your engineering team and both internal and external customers.
Conducts component and system integration with overall new nuclear plant design. All activities that span multiple components and systems that are concerned with how to integrate for maximum performance, operability, and design to cost.
Manages product and systems requirements, specifications, and flow down.
Drive the identification of verification and validation (V&V) requirements at the plant, system, and component level.
Responsible for defining plant-level design requirements for the systems, components, subcontractors, and partner teams.
Manages interface between systems, components, and project/product management organizations.
Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how your area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions.
Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Physics from an accredited university or college.
Proven significant experience in an engineering capacity.
Fluent communication in English and Polish.
Desired Characteristics (preferred but not obligatory)
Masters or PhD in Engineering (Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil).
Experience with Nuclear Island, Turbine Island and BOP plant systems and with the associated safety analyses design bases.
Experience as a Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) at a nuclear power plant is strongly desired.
SRO experience in multiple capacities including on-shift, outage prep, work control, and/or training.
Proven significant experience in commercial nuclear or conventional engineering in multiple capacities including Design, Licensing, PRA, and/or Systems -OR- proven significant experience of shipyard nuclear systems engineering.
Requirements Management experience utilize DOORs or similar tool.
Licensed Professional Engineer
Strong knowledge of plant operations, licensing and design bases, transient and accident analysis. - critical
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
