What you'll be doing: This position reports directly to the Service Desk Manager. The ideal candidate is hard-working, focused, organized, works well with others, and has a strong sense of urgency. Someone who enjoys taking the initiative and will be proactive in managing all levels of tasks, duties and projects as assigned. Please note, this role is in-person and physically reports to our facility in Masontown, PA.

In this role, the Service Desk Technician Intern will provide maintenance and support of IT Related software and hardware. This shall be accomplished by analyzing the requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software solutions and supporting the IT Operations Directives and Security.

Qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide white glove service and support by monitoring the Service Desk ticket queue in JIRA to address issues and requests in a timely manner.

  • Process tickets based upon urgency and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

  • Keep tickets updated with notes and documentation to ensure end users are aware of the status of their request or issue.

  • Utilize and exhaust all resources to resolve any issues in a timely manner before escalating to another team if necessary.

  • Collaborate with team members to recognize issues that may become a problem.

  • Maintain open lines of communication between yourself, the Service Desk team and the Service Desk manager.

  • Modify configurations, utilities, software settings, etc. for company computers while remaining within the company standards.

  • Report any misuse and or abuse of company IT equipment to the Service Desk manager.

  • Assist in maintaining an accurate and up to date inventory of all company IT equipment and software.

  • Manage users, computers and groups in Active Directory.

  • Perform timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required.

    Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in an IT program.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience working with Microsoft products.
