JOB SUMMARY:

Facility Maintenance Technician performs basic and routine facilities

maintenance, construction, and repair tasks according to service, quality, and

safety standards. To be a Facility Maintenance Technician typically requires 3-5

years of related experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  1. Monitor the water treatment facility's performance to ensure the effective

treatment and maintain facility's regulatory compliance.

  1. Monitor the refrigeration system and adjust maintain proper cold room and

freezing tunnel temperatures with little to no supervision. and must

maintain equipment for peak efficiency, and power saving while meeting

the requirements of OHSA's PSM, and the EPA's RMP programs.

  1. Routinely inspecting electrical systems such as wiring, fixtures, and

appliances utilizing basic electrical testing equipment such as voltmeters,

ohmmeters, and mega ohmmeters Identifying faults or hazards.

Troubleshooting system failures. Reviewing blueprints to understand wiring

placement. Conducting maintenance repairs on old or faulty fixtures.

  1. Perform highly diversified duties to install and startup production machines

and other plant equipment.

  1. Resolves all maintenance and mechanical problems promptly with minimal

disruption to production schedules.

  1. Follows all lock out, tag out procedures.

  2. Performs equipment PM’s

  3. Keeps record of all work performed.

  4. Updates maintenance history logs and completes required paperwork.

  5. Accounts for equipment used for maintenance and repair.

  6. Understands and follows the company GMP policy.

  7. Understands and follows the company safety rules

  8. Cleans and maintains work area.

  9. May be required to work long hours and weekends.

  10. May assume other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent certification

At least 3-5 year of industrial maintenance experience required.

Ammonia refrigeration experience preferred.

Ability to trouble shoot and fix electrical issues.

Wastewater treatment plant experience preferred.

Possesses the skills needed to repair, maintain and trouble shoot machinery.

Ability to speak, read, and write English.

Good verbal and written communication skills

Must be well-organized with good attention to detail.

Display strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Adaptable and dependable with ability to follow direction and work

cooperation with others.

Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but

uninvolved, instructions and to deal with problems involving a few different

variables.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

ACTIVITIES:

HEARING:

Very active position, requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping,

crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.

Must be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary

information.

REPETITIVE MOTION:

VISUAL ABILITIES:

Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers.

Acute close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception,

and ability to adjust focus.

PHYSICAL STRENGTH:

Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25

pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds throughout the day.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Must be able to work for long hours in a no-kill food processing environment, where

it is wet, damp, and cold. Temperatures are frequently around freezing, and

employees are expected to remain in these conditions for most of their workdays.
