Trinity Health Sr. Accountant - Finance - Full Time - Days in Mason City, Iowa

Position Purpose:

The Senior Accountant leads projects, mentors the Team, and supports the business through collaboration with others throughout the organization. This position is also responsible for maintaining the ERP financial systems, general ledger, and month end close process. The Senior Accountant produces data analysis, financial reporting, and audit schedules. This position has the potential to work remote.

What you will Do:

  • Prepares and completes month end processes including: journal entries, reconciliations, calculations, report generation for internal and external customers, etc.

  • Maintains the ERP financial systems, general ledger, asset management, accounts payable, accounts receivable and all system office financial reporting systems.

  • Provides guidance and assistance to others regarding financial sub-systems upon request.

  • Prepares schedules required for financial audit and responds to auditor’s requests for documentation and explanation.

  • Prepares timely and accurate reporting to corporate & government agencies i.e.: annual reporting package, capital spend and bondable projects, CBM, IRS 990 & 990T, Sales & Use Tax Reports, miscellaneous annual surveys, etc.

  • Assists primary customer groups in researching questions, understanding & interpreting financial reports. Examples include: Month end financial report, charge and error reports, etc.

  • Anticipates, provides direction and supports end users by trouble shooting problems for process related issues for workflow by tracking issues and communicating status and resolution.

  • Performs other responsibilities as requested by supervisor, manager or department head.

Hours/Schedule:

Full Time, Day Shift (40) hours/week

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.Certificate in Public Accounting preferred.

  • A minimum of five years accounting experience is required.

  • Lead a project or process improvement team required.

  • Healthcare experience preferred.

  • Intermediate to advanced use of analytical tools in Excel used for financial review and analysis.

  • Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all colleagues.

  • Must possess analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented individual able to work with minimum supervision.

  • Must be able to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs.

  • Must be able to perform effectively under stressful situation.
