Interns typically work a full-time schedule throughout a 10-12 week assignment during the summer. Here, you will make an impact by:Collaborating with scientists & engineers to assist in research and development, delivering high quality materials, processes, and analysis for Central R&D and Healthcare divisions.Executing prioritized laboratory tasks including materials synthesis, preparation, characterization, performance testing, and data collectionImplementing best lab practices and synthetic techniques to prepare novel samplesThoroughly documenting and reporting synthetic schemes and results in both electronic and written formatContributing to the generation of intellectual propertyYour Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Completed a bachelor's degree (or anticipated completion by June 2025) or higher from an accredited institution with a GPA of 3.0 or above.ANDIn addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:Experience with chemistry, organic chemistry, or polymers course workPursuing graduate school in the physical sciencesAbility to work in-person daily at the Maplewood, MN site.Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Previous internship experience in chemistry, organic chemistry, or polymers field.Experience working in a synthetic chemistry laboratoryExperience with setting up laboratory experimentsStrong problem-solving and communication skills, including documentation of workWork location:Onsite: Maplewood, MN: United States (5 days a week)Relocation: not authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-beingSolventum offers many programs to help you live your best life - both physically and financially.
