Position Summary

Production Lead is responsible for assembly, training, monitoring, and assigning work tasks in a medical device production environment. The Production Lead will utilize established documentation, tools, quality and production concepts in accordance with established safety procedures and in conjunction with limited supervision and guidance.

Principal Responsibilities

• Champion a safety driven culture. Ensure compliance with all safety and environment regulations.

• Manufacture, inspect and package product following written procedures and using applicable equipment to perform basic visual and dimensional checks, while meeting established timed standards and production goals.

• Provide work direction and oversee adherence to company policies and procedures.

• Cross-train across multiple operations and, as needed, across multiple product lines.

• Ability to train Operators to applicable manufacturing procedures and train on use of production equipment/tooling.

• Proactively plan and execute cross-training to develop talent within the organization.

• Utilize 5S and lean methodologies to maintain a safe, clean and organized workplace.

• Ensure proper tools and materials are available as needed to meet production requirements.

• Identify and support continuous improvement efforts with the production support team.

• Identify quality issues or workmanship deficiencies related to equipment, assembly and inspection processes, materials, sub-assemblies, and the manufacturing environment.

• Comply with GMP requirements by maintaining individual training records, completing data entry in production records in a timely and accurate manner, and adhering to documented manufacturing practices and procedures as defined in Teleflex Quality Systems Procedures.

• Maintain and review production records to verify they are complete and accurate.

• Assist in providing work direction and maintaining work flow in the absence of the Production Supervisor.

• Assist the Production Supervisor to meet production goals, maintain production metrics, and communicate production issues.

• Provide input to Production Supervisor and Operations Manager regarding equipment, processes, manufacturing environment and other related information for capacity planning and production scheduling.

• Maintain and reorder established quantities for Kanban items to control inventories. Accurately execute transactions in SAP to ensure proper issuing, closing and labor reporting on all work orders.

• Ensure effective transfer of information between shifts.

• Ensure equipment is maintained and calibrated within defined timelines. Coordinate with technicians and metrology to minimize interruption to production lines.

• Work with Operators and engineering staff identify and implement improvements to reduce scrap, improve quality, capacity and product flow for assigned product lines.

• Comply with all company policies and procedures.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience Requirements

• Completed High School Diploma or GED.

• Minimum of 2 years medical assembly experience is required.

• Management experience preferred.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

• Ability to utilize a variety of instructions in written, oral diagram or visual sample form, to process and construct acceptable finished goods and WIP product.

• Ability to sit frequently, stand, walk, bend and occasionally lift.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.

• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communication.

• Ability to demonstrate team building, problem-solving, and leadership skills is required.

• Experience in Lean Manufacturing, GMP, FDA and ISO is preferred.
