Mobile Lube Technician - Afternoon Shift Job Description Martin Marietta is seeking a Mobile Lube Technician to work out of the Maple Grove Maintenance Facility. This position will be responsible for safely and efficiently maintaining a fleet of stationary and mobile equipment, in a safe and timely manner. This is a union position and membership in the Local 49 Operating Engineers union is required. Summary of essential job functions Technician performs scheduled maintenance year-round on a variety of heavy equipment. Work is performed both in-shop and at multiple field locations. Operates a Lube Truck throughout the Twin Cities metro area to maintain and service all assigned mining and off-road vehicles and construction heavy equipment. This position also helps maintain the shop and equipment by washing equipment and cleaning the shop. Essential Functions * Maximizing performance of equipment by performing minor repairs and ensuring preventative maintenance is completed on a timely basis. * Performs routine maintenance on diesel engines and heavy equipment. * Maintains accurate records of all repairs and services performed while adhering to safety protocols * Maintains a clean and organized work area. * Aides in the training of co-workers as needed. Preferred Education and Experience * Proven experience working with heavy equipment. * Knowledge of diesel engine systems, including electrical and hydraulic systems * Strong organizational skills, including planning, scheduling, prioritizing, and record-keeping. * Possess strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge, and skills. * Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to perform duties with minimal supervision. * Able to work outdoors, in varying weather conditions, and elevated work areas up to 80'. * Able to use a wide variety of hand tools and power tools. * Able to adhere to MSHA & OSHA guidelines and Company afety rules and regulations. * Must possess a valid unrestricted Class B driver's license (Class A with Tanker endorsement preferred) and a clean driving record. * Able to ensure a safe work environment by prioritizing safety, then quality, followed by production. Work Environment This role will be based out of the maintenance facility in Maple Grove, Minnesota - 25% in a shop setting, 75% in the field/outdoors at surface mines and asphalt plants. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position at an average of 46 hours per week and may require additional overtime as needed. Typical daily hours for this position are 3:00 PM - 1:00 AM.
