Job Summary
Location: Rushford The Ridge (Willimantic, CT) & Natchaug Hospital (Mansfield Center, CT)
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Food & Nutrition Services to lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of our healthcare dining services across two behavioral health facilities. This leadership role is ideal for a results-oriented professional with a passion for hospitality, culinary excellence, and team development within a mission-driven healthcare environment.
This position oversees operations at Rushford The Ridge and Natchaug Hospital, serving a combined total of 120 behavioral health beds. The account is 3M in managed volume, with 22 employees including two full-time leads, and no retail component.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and support a team of food and nutrition service associates to consistently deliver high-quality meals and excellent customer service.
Foster strong partnerships with hospital leadership, clinical teams, and other departments to support patient-centered care.
Collaborate with the Executive Chef and management team to create nutritious, appealing, and compliant menus.
Manage all financial aspects of the account, including P&L, budgeting, cost controls, and forecasting.
Ensure regulatory compliance and uphold high standards for food safety, sanitation, and quality.
Roll out and sustain new culinary programs and service initiatives tailored to the behavioral health environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Nutrition, or a related field (preferred).
3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in foodservice operations, ideally in healthcare or behavioral health settings.
Proven expertise in high-volume food production and back-of-house operations.
Strong financial management skills and experience with budgeting and P&L oversight.
Commitment to continuous improvement, team development, and patient-focused service.
