Whole Foods Market Maintenance Team Member in Manor, Texas
Job DescriptionMaintain all production support equipment to ensure maximum availability and reliability, including various corrective and preventative maintenance activities on all equipment within the facility.Responsibilities
Order parts and reconcile packaging slips with invoices in preparation for payment.
Coordinate outside contractors, as needed, to perform needed repairs.
Maintain inventory of basic parts.
Responsible for upkeep of basic painting and building maintenance.
Inspect and diagnose problems and determine the best way to correct them, frequently checking blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogs.
Use common hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, saws, drills, wrenches and hammers as well as specialized equipment and electronic testing devices.
Replace or repair worn or broken parts where necessary or make adjustments to correct malfunctioning equipment and machines.
General maintenance, perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
Follow checklists, including inspection of drives, motors and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters and perform other maintenance functions.
Communicate and maintain safety and security standards.
Participate in facility safety committee meetings.
Consistently communicate, uphold and embody Whole Foods Market's standards, vision and Philosophy.
Establish and maintain positive and productive vendor relationships. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of and ensure compliance with relevant regularity rules & standards including: Whole Foods Market Quality and Organic Standards, OSHA, QAI, Health and Sanitation (including HAACP), FDA, Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measures.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to read, analyze and interpret repair manuals, parts catalogues, blueprints, technical procedures, safety rules, operation/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Comprehensive knowledge of equipment utilized by the warehouse
Stay current with changes in maintenance procedures
Strong organizational skills, attention to details, ability to prioritize and ability to meet deadlines
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, on-line ordering and troubleshooting through vendor websites
Ability to deliver information in a clear and concise manner to fellow team members and customers
Outstanding customer service skills
Comply with all WFM quality standards
Proper use of knives, personal protective equipment, forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks, six wheel carts, baler and all other equipment used during preparation and clean up within department and store.
Ability to work well with others, self-motivated and capable of working independently with little supervision. Able to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the Distribution Center, including nights, weekends and holidays as required
Desired Work Experiences
Warehouse experience preferred
Must be at least 18 years of age
Basic understanding of plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, electrical and mechanic fields
