Amentum HR Generalist in Mannheim, Germany

Purpose: This position will support all areas of Human Resources as dictated by daily operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to fulfill each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Assists in the day-to-day HR operations in a variety of areas: customer service, contract administration, employee relations, benefits, and personnel actions.

  • Prepares personnel requests for transfers, promotions, termination, release, contract completion, etc. Ensures that proper approvals and reviews have occurred.

  • Conducts HR onboarding and presents New Hire Orientation.

  • Coordinates demobilization and facilitates out processing.

  • Handles customer inquiries and complaints, finding resolutions at the lowest level.

  • Performs HR functions for new hires, terminations, transfers, and benefit changes.

  • Coordinates with management to establish promotion dates.

  • Assists in ensuring the required HR new hire training and annual mandatory training are completed within the defined timeline.

  • Assists with the drug testing program to include assisting during the monthly drug testing.

  • Prepare, update, and maintain reports required by management, site and corporate office in a timely manner.

  • Update personnel records and ensure the documentation is appropriate and up to date.

  • Organize, file, and maintain records.

  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise.

  • Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.

  • Performs other duties as required and assigned.

Qualification & Experience Requirements: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in human resource management preferred.

  • 2-3 years of human resources experience required, preferably as an HR Generalist.

  • Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements may be substituted for years of experience. Example: Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to (2) years of college and vice versa.

  • Must be able to meet and maintain all base access security requirements.

Specialized knowledge and skills:

  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English and preferably German.

  • Must have advanced level understanding of HR processes and related areas.

  • Must be able to work effectively with all levels of employees, including top, middle and supervisory levels of management.

  • Must have a collaborative work style, fostering cooperation and teamwork.

  • Must be able to exercise discretion and good judgment.

  • Must be able to handle confidential company and employee information with complete discretion.

  • Must have high-level organizational and planning skills, so that workflow is managed efficiently and accurately.

  • Must have a high level of proficiency in the use of MS Office, with an emphasis in Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Working knowledge of Deltek is a plus.

Additional Requirements:

1) LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Valid driver’s license is required

  • PHR/SPHR Certification is preferred.

2) PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Stooping, sitting, kneeling, standing, walking, lifting 25 pounds continuously, 50 pounds intermittently, 51+ pounds with the assistance of another person, touching dexterity (hand and finger), carrying, clear seeing-general, close vision, color perception, clear speech, driving vehicle, moving objects.

  • Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively up to a 48-hour work week.

  • Must be able to endure long hours (overtime as required).

3) WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • May be required to deploy on missions on short notice at the direction of the PMO.
