Manage the proper flow of material in the shop through safe operation of warehouse transporting equipment.

  • Responsible for accurately receiving, counting & identifying materials at receipt and in the warehouse.

  • Must ensure inventory accuracy at all times.

  • Responsible for picking and delivering work between all departments and the handling and processing of materials into and out of the area.

  • Must be able to operate all equipment in the Materials area. (fork truck, prime mover, tugger, scales, crane)

  • Must be able to properly identify the destination of materials being shipped and ensure proper shipping containers are used in consolidation and UPS.

  • Accountable for process evaluation, measurement, documentation and improvement on a continuous basis.

  • Independently move to the work within receiving tasks to eliminate batches / overflow situations as necessary by a self-directed team.

  • Perform ancillary warehousing tasks, including but not limited to: cycle counting, replenishment, consolidation, PO discrepancies, dunnage.

  • Must be able to understand and follow departmental standard work.

  • Must be able to be a team player

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma, GED or HSED

  • Must be able to count accurately and do simple arithmetic

  • Must be able to us simple measuring instruments such as a scale

  • Must have basic computer and good communication skills

  • Must be able to become fork truck certified
