RELX INC Software Engineering Lead in Manila, Philippines
This position exists to lead a team of engineers to ensure timely and accurate performance of all team activities and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a team or department within an organization. They are responsible for ensuring that all operations are running smoothly and efficiently, and that all employees are meeting their performance targets.
Accountabilities:
Supervise and manage a team of employees, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity
Monitor and analyze operational metrics to identify areas for improvement
Work with other teams/divisions to ensure that operations are aligned with organizational goals
Conduct regular performance evaluations of team members and provide feedback for improvement
Ensure compliance with regulations and policies
Manage inventory and supplies to ensure that the department has the resources necessary to meet operational demands
Identify and resolve operational issues and challenges
Prepare reports and presentations on operational performance and outcomes
Provide guidance and support to team members to help them meet their goals and objectives
Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the division
Resolve escalated customer complaints and technical escalations when applicable
Conduct effective workforce planning and responsible for individual career development.
Actively drive improvements that increase productivity and staff effectiveness.
Recommend staff retention initiatives.
Manage and facilitate the corrective action process, partnering with the manager
Manage employee teams, drive engagement, provide ongoing communications, coach and develop staff. Drive key initiatives to facilitate team process improvement and efficiency as well as partner with Leadership to implement critical employee opinion survey (EOS) actions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, math or equivalent technical discipline or equivalent technical experience or related work experience.
5-7 years relevant professional experience.
1-3 years supervisor-level experience.
3+ years of experience in operations management or a related field
Strong leadership and management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to analyze data and metrics to identify areas for improvement
Familiarity with safety regulations and policies
Attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to work in rapidly changing environment.
Quickly grasps new technology and concepts.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and email correspondence.
Ability to speak clearly and effectively with team members.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
