· Providing direct assistance, support and care to clients residing in the shelter

· Assist with the distribution of meals and maintaining the cafeteria clean following all DOHMH protocols

· Complete initial intakes

· Conduct wellness check to ensure that all clients are safe

· Conduct hourly rounds and log the outcome of the event

· Conduct room inspection to ensure that clients units are safe and free of hazardous conditions

· Complete work orders and follow-ups when needed

· Remove any contraband and complete reports

· Write occurrence and incident reports when deemed necessary

· Support and assist in enforcing shelter rules and regulations

· Sorting and distributing client’s mails

· Serve as a Liaison to the current atmosphere in the facility

· Report incidents, accidents and client concerns immediately via occurrence/incident report.

· Collaborate with monthly fire drills and report outcomes on your assigned lead

· Must be able to work as needed.

· Attend mandatory meetings and participate in trainings as directed by the supervisor

· Manages CARES, the DHS data base

· Comply with all DHS Absorb trainings as scheduled by DHS

· Able to lift about 50 pounds of weight, bend, and climb stairs

· Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Job Requirements:

· High School Diploma or Equivalency with two years of experience preferred

· HHA/CAN or other medical training preferred

· Food Handlers Certification required

· CPR/First Aid Required

· F0-2 Preferred

· Narcan Certification required

· Superior verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to speak/write English

· Bilingual Spanish Preferred
