Public Procurement is going through a digital transformation, and as a Sr. Public Sector Partner Development Manager you play a critical role in supporting and influencing the UK/IR and EU Public Sector Strategy to support the ongoing needs and challenges of Public organisations. You are responsible for identifying, winning, managing and growing Public Sector frameworks and partnerships whilst working cross-functionally/globally with teams like; Public Policy, Legal, Operations, Program/Product, Account Management and many more. Amazon Business is a fast-paced, evolving environment and the ideal candidate thrives under ambiguity, has strong business judgement and a desire to evolve our ways of thinking whilst implementing new programs and processes.

The ideal candidate will have experience in public procurement working with Government Ministries/authorities/agencies and a track record of success, including implementing programmes that deliver incremental value and revenue to the business. This will include identifying new opportunities for growth, driving long-term initiatives, and building partnerships up to C-Suite level. You will receive hands-on training and mentorship that will enable you to grow, learn, and be successful.

A successful candidate should be eager to learn and develop themselves, and be a self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The candidate should be prepared to perform against goals and consistently meet targets, with a focus on delivering results for customers through solutions aligned to their goals and outcomes.

Key job responsibilities

• Identify the needs of UK Public Sector customers and identify/create partnerships and solutions that meet and exceed their expectations

• Be the point person in identifying and communicating UK policy changes that impact the customer experience and shape our product/solution roadmap

• Support and influence the strategy to set direction for the UK and EU Public Sector teams and then deliver against it at pace

• Build expertise of the UK Public Sector within Amazon Business

• Identify/respond to public contracting authorities in the UK Public Sector for upcoming frameworks whilst working with authorities to help inform/shape their thinking for future tenders/frameworks

• Build long-term relationships with senior internal and external customer stakeholders including CPOs, VPs, Directors and more

• Own and/or participate in the response to public tenders as well as contracting activities for large, complex deals

Basic Qualifications

• BA/BS degree not required but preferred

• Professional experience, including experience in the management of contracts, calls for tenders, procurement/buying, and/or consulting/selling in the UK Public Sector

• Knowledge of digital marketplace solutions (e.g. Amazon)

• Experience working with and gaining commitments from Central Government and/or Local Government Authorities

• Superior communication skills – both oral and written

• Proven analytical skills and ability to influence people both internally and externally

• Decisive and ability to move with speed to implement ideas

• A passionate, self-starter who is ready to take the Amazon Business Public Sector to the next level

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong Ownership, Bias for Action, Are Right, A Lot, Dive Deep and a willingness to roll up your sleeves

• In-depth knowledge of the regulations and requirements of UK Public Sector

• Exposure to B2B sourcing technologies and / or purchasing integrations

• CIPS qualification (not required but preferred)
