We are seeking enthusiastic civil engineers with a background in railway lineside Infrastructure to join our expanding Rail Engineering Services Team to lead on the management and delivery of a number of our diverse portfolio of rail engineering projects across the UK. The role will comprise:

  • Be Client facing and accountable for the delivery of Lineside Infrastructure Engineering design projects.

  • Manage client and stakeholder relationships to achieve desired project outcomes.

  • Lead and contribute tothe development of high-performing Lineside Infrastructure teams

  • Supporting Engineering Managers in the technical delivery of Rail projects

  • Support work winningand lead design tenders

You will work on exciting and inspiring projects for a variety of Infrastructure Owners, National and Local Governments, and Public and Private Sector Industry Groups including Network Rail, Transport for London, Transport for Greater Manchester and HS2. You will be part of the Engineering & Project Management Service Line and be amongst a team of professionally qualified, talented and diverse individuals that work great together to:

  • Work on Rail Multi-Disciplinary Projects for a number of important Clients

  • Undertake project work from across the full design lifecycle, from the early concept stage to detailed design and subsequently support implementation contractors on site

  • Act as a mentor to others in the team, supporting their development by imparting your technical knowledge and experiences

  • Provide clients with technical excellence and the ability to delight.

The role will be based in one of our iconic city centre offices throughout the UK, primarily Manchester, Birmingham or London. Our offices provide a quality, flexible and dynamic working space focused on the health and wellbeing of our staff and benefits from innovative design, substantial amounts of natural light, open collaborative spaces and easy access to public transport.

We are actively seeking talented engineers with demonstrable multidisciplinary delivery experience; proven leaders that have a track record of developing and maintaining client relationships.

We are looking for candidates with:

  • A track record of successfully delivering Lineside Infrastructure projects, in particular, the spatial positioning/ civil engineering associated with lineside infrastructure, eg signals, location suites, level crossings, and station platforms.

  • Experience across the full project lifecycle from initial feasibility studies to detailed design and implementation.

  • An ability to manage multiple work streams and teams, balancing priorities, making value and delivery judgements/decisions to meet or exceed our client’s expectations.

  • Technical knowledge to be able to challenge other project disciplines and clients to ensure focus is maintained on the defined scope or where scope needs to be modified.

  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, and Chartered or working towards chartership

  • Undertaken the role of Civils CRE

  • A track record of mentoring and developing staff.

  • Understanding of Client Engineering assurance processes i.e. GRIP and PACE
